Spain... where do I begin? Barcelona is such an amazing city, the food, the people, the architecture .... everything is beautiful. A few months ago I was in my apartment in New York City and I realized that I did not own a paella pan and I never make paella, so naturally I decided to book a trip to Barcelona because I obviously need to learn there. I like to think of myself as a mixture of a gypsy and an unpaid Anthony Bourdain.
Churros- Oh My God! The churros in Barcelona are so delicious. I arrived early in the morning and wanted some coffee to cure the jet lag, I stumbled into this little shop and the churros were sooooooo fresh and good.... I mean look at them. Spanish coffee is really good also.
Paella
Ok Moving on to more important things. The Paella in Barcelona is mouth watering, foodgasming, perfection. I took a class with a lady named Marta. We made the most delicious paella together. The secret to a good paella is good rice, and get fresh local vegetables and seafood. I am looking forward to having paella nights at home.
Tapas
Prawns in spain with fresh sea salt at La Surena at the port. When you Taste the Mediterranean in one bite...thats tapas.
I really loved Spanish architecture and the Antoni Gaudi Museum the entire city is a museum if you ask me. Gaudi wanted his art to be enjoyed by the people, he wanted his art to bring the people closer to god. He undoubtedly succeeded. Walking from cathedral to cathedral, walking around the parks, everything he created was beautiful and uplifting.
Barcelona stole my heart with its art, its passion, its people, its everything....
